Snow Day Cake

This is bananas!
The snow is relentless.

Maybe your roads are closed
Perhaps (duh) it's a bonafide snow day and the kids are home.

Forget shoveling.
Mash those babies up.

No expensive candy-colored mixer required.
Don't you love the rustic luxe feel of a good ol' wooden spoon anyway?

Oops!
I forgot the eggs. Crack em in.

If you can't get to the market and your cupboards are bare.
Use whatever mix you have.
Yes. I said mix.
(I am not bake proud - I'm bake happy!)

Toss in your favorite add-ins.
I plopped in a couple handfuls of California raisins.

Coarsely chop some chocolate.
Save some for TV watching time tonight.

Fold in the goodies.

Spray your best pan.
Bake for 50 - 60 minutes at 375 degrees

Ice the cake so it resembles fluffy snowbanks and drifts of icy white snowflakes.

Make a quick and simple buttercream.
Don't forget. Beat by hand.
It's a home cozy day.

Dust with powdered sugar.
Look outside and make the cake look like the landscape.

Make a huge pot of hot tea.

Whip some cream with a lick of white sugar

Enjoy.
Invite your neighbors over for some!

Won't last long.
Blizzard be damned.
